Communities come together for various life events. When we gather to celebrate, we often gather to share words of love, acknowledgement and union. Weddings, christenings, bar mitzvahs, sermons, memorials, milestone birthdays and anniversaries are all occasions where we share our words, thoughts and feelings with each other - with varying degrees of success.
The major hurdle here is working out what, exactly, is your message and then delivering those sentiments with sincerity and openness. That is what touches our human lives on these momentous occasions, and because no man is an island - we all play a part in our communities in one way or another - every person will have to step up to the plate at some point: in love, in loss, in life.
